Epic Games Store Officially Launches on Mobile

The Epic Games Store has officially launched on mobile, making popular titles like Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League Sideswipe available for Android users globally and iOS users in the European Union. This launch is particularly significant for Fall Guys, which is now available on mobile for the first time ever.

The move is in part thanks to the Digital Markets Act (DMA), which has opened up competition on iOS in the EU. Players can now enjoy cross-platform play and cross-progression between PC, console, and mobile devices. To celebrate the launch, Epic is offering exciting in-game challenges that reward players with exclusive cosmetics, including a new Fortnite outfit, Fall Guys-themed items, and a gold vehicle trim usable across all three games.

Tim Sweeney, Epic Games CEO, reflected on the legal journey leading to this moment, as Fortnite was removed from Apple and Google Play stores in 2020 after a dispute over payment systems. Now, Fortnite is officially back on mobile, and Epic Games aims to expand its reach by offering its games on other third-party stores like AltStore PAL and Aptoide in the near future.
