Groups of teams play each other in a season-long round-robin format before deciding which group would represent their region in the season’s major. The vast majority of Majors only have one round of elimination.

This final trip to The International begins after three Tours have been completed. There will be 12 teams attending The International based on their total DPC points throughout all Tours.

The winners of the International will be crowned the new Dota 2 world champions.

Yearly, Valve (the game’s creators) throws a worldwide tournament. Twelve of the best teams in the world will compete in the international tournament.
